During my teenage years, I consider myself to be overweight, weighing 180 pounds and I’m only 5 feet 5. It took me years to understand no matter how much help you get from reading articles or taking weight loss pills/meals, the most important thing is you need to be determined and motivated. After I found my inner will power, it took me just 2 months to lose 30 pounds. Here goes!
Everyone knows gaining weight is easy but it takes tremendous will power and effort to lose even a small bit of this gained weight. One can find numerous diet programs, exercise routines and other information on how to lose weight, however it takes more than just reading about these programs and exercise routines. Losing weight needs a consistent effort and a zealous attitude without which the program can never produce the wanted results. Most women in today’s time are fighting their excess weight and trying every weight loss method to shed off the stubborn weight. The trick is to be aware of the right program for the purpose.
There is so much information on how to lose weight that often times; people get confused on which programs work and which programs to follow according to their body. What works for one might not be effective in somebody else’s case as each individual has a particular body. However, there are certain common points, which if followed can lead to weight loss.
Dedication: as mentioned, consistent effort, in following the exercise and diet routine is very important if one wants to lose weight. One should maintain his level of motivation and continue his diet and exercise pattern with dedication. It is often seen that initially the body releases the water weight, but after a while, the process of weight loss slows down as it takes some time for the stubborn fat to melt. It is during this phase that most of the participants start losing interest and back out from their exercise or diet program. However, this should not be done as once this lean period passes away the body starts releasing the stored fat.
Exercise and healthy diet: the calorie intake should be less than or equal to the amount of calories burnt if one wants to lose weight fast. To burn more calories than the intake, one needs to exercise consistently or take up activities like jogging, walking, running or cycling. The choice of food is also very important as one need to cut down on calories and fats but eat protein rich diets, which give vitality and energy.
Water: water holds a special place when it comes to losing weight. It makes a person feel full and helps in washing away the toxins of the body. This way water provides the dual advantage of keeping a check on the weight and keeping the body clean and rid of toxins. One should make it a point to have eight glasses of water every day.
While the abovementioned points are general points, which can be followed to lose weight, here is an example of a day’s diet, which helps lose, weight fast:
Breakfast:
- Unsweetened coffee or herbal tea,
- One fruit: this can be a kiwi or an orange. A bowl of stewed but sugar free fruits,
- One bowl of yogurt, which must be non-fat,
- Half a cup of sugar free maize or corn flakes.
Lunch:
- Vegetable salad entrée with Lemon and yogurt,
- Steamed or grilled fish or a slice of lean meat with fresh and steamed vegetables having small quantity of salt.
Dinner:
- A cup of vegetable soup,
- An apple,
The diet as mentioned is called the express diet and helps lose weight fast. The diet contains no fat, snacks, dairy products and alcohol. The rule is simple: to lose weight fast, one should have three meals in a day with each meal at a fixed time.
