Improving your fitness level enhances metabolism

Why is fitness important to you? That should be a question that you should be asking yourself.  However many people in the especially the US don’t take their physical fitness seriously at all.  That is why such a large percentage of people are obese and over weight.  But to be honest fitness makes you feel good & has lot’s of great health benefits to it as well. Being fit, means enhances your bodies metabolism thus making it much easier to burn fat.

However physical fitness can mean a lot of different things to different people.  For some, it is the ability to engage in sports activities, for others it might just be doing a push up or going for a jog. The number one reason I think fitness is important is because being fit makes you feel good.   Studies conducted by Loren Falkenberg of University of Calgary, suggested companies who offer exercise programs such as gym memberships for their employees , saw a notable increase in work related productivity by around 9.8% in the US.  This isn’t surprising seeing being more fit actually makes you more alert, in shape and less tired.   Most importantly, while your exercising a losing the fat and sweat but your also reducing stress.

Here are 3 tips that will help you put your fitness into focus:

  1. Set a schedule and time everyday that you exercise. Make it your “Workout Time” That means nothing is dedicated for that time slot except for your fitness.
  2. Set realistic goals for yourself. Like instead of saying I am going to work out 5 days a week. Start a small goal and say, I’m going to workout 2 times a week. If you do more than that, it is just a bonus and a pat on the back for you. But by setting it low it is more realistic. You should always set goals. By having a goal, you have a focal point, something to reach for.
  3. Be consistent, Don’t just workout because you want to lose weight, Take fitness up as more of a lifestyle and do it often in your daily and weekly life.

So why is fitness important? Well it make’s you feel better, live longer and have a happier out look on life. As well as it maintains weight and metabolism. That is why fitness is important.
